  Michael Balas, PGY-3 ophthalmology, U of T. I'd like to represent you on General Council, and I promise to make it about you and not my LinkedIn.
  
  Quick pitch: before residency I chaired a national CFMS task force and sat on an OMA working group, which is a fancy way of saying I've spent a lot of time in the kind of meetings where resident issues either get fixed or quietly die. I know how to make them get fixed. I also built a physician workforce data platform, because I'm the type of person who reads the fine print and then makes a spreadsheet about it. Useful trait for someone whose job is knowing the Collective Agreement.
  
  Three things I actually care about:
  1) Your rights should be readable before you need them, not discovered mid-crisis at 2am on a Google Doc someone forwarded you.
  2) When you raise something at a meeting, you should hear what happened to it. I'll report back in writing, every time.
  3) Resident time is the scarcest thing we have. I'll treat it like it's worth defending, because it is.
  
  That's it. I'll show up prepared, I'll answer your emails, and I'll be the person you flag things to.
